In 24–72 hours, minerals that ionsx+ contain will typically turn a green pool into a clear one.

  • "Green" pools usually have lots of algae in them which makes it hard to clearly see the steps and the bottom.
  • These minerals instantly dissolve in the water, set up a stable residue, and constantly get rid of bacteria and algae (a minimum of 2.00 ppm chlorine is suggested for "green to clear").
  • Ionsx minerals may not last the whole six months after the pool has been cleaned, depending on how extensive the algae problem is. This can occur due to loss from backwashing, filter cleaning, and algae killing.
  • In this situation, resupply the pool with ionsx mineral treatments as needed in order to maintain it clear of algae.

ionsx+ products enhance the feeling of being in saltwater. Minerals lower the amount of salt chlorine produced, which is necessary to maintain an algae-free salt pool and sterilize it.

Because a lesser amount of chlorine must be produced (minimum 0.5–1.0 ppm), the salt cell's lifespan is improved. The quantity of acid required to maintain the pH is also reduced.

Additionally, the zinc component contributes in the salt cell's descalement.

STEP-BY-STEP

How to use ionsx+

Setup takes minutes. Maintenance is a few times a year. The water does the rest.

  1. 01

    Choose the right unit

    • Identify your pool size in gallons or liters and pick the matching ionsx+ size (S / M / L / XL).
  2. 02

    Balance your water first

    • Make sure water is clear and chemically balanced before installing.
    • Brush, vacuum, and backwash your filter if needed.

  3. 03

    Install the unit

    • Place the unit inside the pump basket or skimmer basket — never directly in the pool.
    • Water must flow over the unit to release the minerals.
    • Do not open or tamper with the unit.
  4. 04

    Maintain circulation

    • Run your pool pump and filter at least 6–8 hours daily — more in hot weather or heavy use.
  5. 05

    Lower your chlorine

    • ionsx+ minerals replace most of your chlorine load.
    • Keep free chlorine around 0.5 – 1.0 ppm — significantly less than before.
  6. 06

    Monitor and refresh

    • Each unit lasts approximately 6 months.
    • After 4–6 months (or after a backwash), add an ionsx+ booster.

    Stay on top of water balance

    • Check pH, alkalinity, and chlorine levels regularly to keep the water at its best.
Tip: First-time users typically see clearer water within 24 – 72 hours.
